GUJRANWALA: Scores of female students and teachers staged a demonstration against Wasa authorities over poor sewerage condition outside their school in Aroop area.
They said that many students were injured after falling into the open manholes in the street. Filthy sewage water entered the school premises which is causing diseases. The school administration has got registered complaints several times in this regard but the Wasa authorities have yet not taken any action.
Later, after assurance of early action by AC city Tariq Hussain Bhatti, the protesters dispersed peacefully. Teams formed to arrest ex-PHA directors: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has constituted the raiding parties to arrest the former director administration of PHA, Ahad Dogar and assistant director Rashid Bashir Chattha.
Both of them were declared court absconders for the last three months. Both the accused have been dismissed from the service over corruption charges in the PHA Gujranwala while the anti-corruption court has also rejected their bail applications.
Meanwhile, the ACE team has arrested a former medical officer for fraudulently drawing salaries even after removal from the service. Accused Eman Yaseen, former medical officer of Aziz Bhatti Hospital Gujrat, was dismissed eight months ago but he, in connivance with the accountant, was still drawing salaries.
